A bit about Grove Road Counselling. . .

Our story

Grove Road Counselling was born out of the purchase of a family home in 2008, on Grove road in Chelmsford.

At the time, it was set up as ‘Progress Counselling’, an addictions and eating disorders charitable practice, which had been founded in 2002.  Grove road was the new premises for the practice, and set up with two therapy rooms and a bathroom.

Sadly, in 2014, Progress disbanded due to a lack of funding.

However, the owner decided to carry on the good work of the counsellors by renting rooms out to local practitioners, providing affordable and flexible rental of much-needed face-to-face spaces.

Symbolism

As you enter Grove Road Counselling you will see the Progress logo - the ancient alchemical ‘rose and cross’ symbol.

Is it the cross of the Knights of St John whose mission was to ‘protect guide and safeguard’? The cross symbolising logic, order and equality.

Or, is it the four-leafed white flower in the centre, representing nature and the gradual process of natural growth?

Whichever vision you see, or prefer, it represents the counselling process of guidance, that of perception, safeguarding and natural change.
